Nearly everything here answers one question: how does the light turn on, and from where. A tailcap keeps control at the rear of the body and is the simplest, most robust option; a click-type cap gives you constant-on without holding pressure, while a momentary cap keeps the light live only while pressed. A remote switch moves that control to a pad on the handguard, which suits a support-hand grip further forward, and the dual switches keep a tailcap button as a back-up if the cable is knocked loose. Match three things when ordering: the light body and rear-cap thread the part is built for, the rail standard the pad clamps to — the CSM parts mount to M-LOK, the CSP parts snap onto Picatinny — and the cable length, since a short lead on a long handguard leaves the pad in the wrong place. Dual-fuel rear caps are listed separately from standard ones, so check which body you have.
