Gold Dot Sights, explained.

Gold sits between red and green in the spectrum, and that is exactly the argument for it. It keeps much of the extra visibility green gets from the eye's sensitivity, without the glare and bloom some shooters see from a bright green emitter, and it separates cleanly from the two backgrounds that swallow a red dot: deep green foliage and anything lit warm. Against snow, pale stonework or an overcast sky the amber tone still holds contrast where a red dot washes out.

Because Holosun offers gold as a variant of bodies it already builds in red and green, the practical route is to choose the sight first and the colour second. Decide whether you want an enclosed emitter, which footprint the base must match, and whether you need a plain dot or a multi-reticle system with a surrounding circle; the gold option then simply follows that model. Nothing else about fit, mount or controls changes with the colour.
