The Holosun EPS CORE in this version is a 1x enclosed-emitter pistol sight with a fixed 3 MOA gold dot at 590nm, cut for a direct RMSc footprint.
Gold reads differently to the eye than red, and shooters whose astigmatism turns a red dot into a comet tail often see a gold one as a clean round dot instead.
CORE is the stripped-back EPS: no Solar Failsafe and a hard anodised 6061 aluminium housing rather than the premium alloy, but the sealed emitter that justifies buying an enclosed optic in the first place is untouched. The window measures 0.90 x 0.63 in (22.9 x 16.0 mm), adjustment is 1.5 MOA per click with 30 MOA of travel each way, and there are 8 daylight and 4 night-vision brightness levels with memory recall. A side-loading CR1620 tray gives up to 50,000 hours and lets you change the cell without unbolting the sight, and Shake Awake wakes the dot on movement. The body is 1.61 x 1.18 x 0.97 in (40.9 x 30.0 x 24.6 mm), weighs 1.4 oz (40 g), and is rated IPX8 and 5000G.
A 3 MOA dot is the middle setting of the range: finer than a 6 MOA for a deliberate shot, coarser than a 2 MOA to find in a hurry. Note what CORE leaves out, though, because it matters in daylight: there is no solar cell backing up the battery, so the CR1620 is the only power source, and the footprint is RMSc, not RMR.
It mounts directly to any slide or mount cut to the RMSc pattern, with no plate in between. Prefer a switchable reticle? The EPS CORE gold with Multi-Reticle System adds a circle around the dot. The same 3 MOA dot in other colours is the EPS CORE 3 MOA red or the EPS CORE 3 MOA green. Browse gold dot sights and RMSc footprint optics.
