RMSc Footprint Red Dot Sights, explained.

RMSc is the small mounting pattern used by micro-compact and slim-slide carry pistols — narrow slides simply do not have the width for the larger bolt spacing of a full-size pattern. The screw positions and recoil-lug shape are what define it, and they are not compatible with the RMR pattern in either direction, so an optic must either be cut for RMSc or be fitted with an adaptor plate cut for it. Check what your slide is milled for, or what your optic-ready plate set includes, before choosing.

Sights on this pattern are physically smaller as well, which is the point on a carry gun: less weight above the bore, a lower profile against clothing, and a window sized to the slide. The trade is a smaller viewing area than a full-size optic and, usually, a smaller battery. Within the pattern you still choose enclosure — EPS Carry and SCS Carry are sealed, others are open reflex — along with dot size and reticle colour. Which one do you need?
