The Holosun HS407C X3 Gold Dot Sight is a 1x open-emitter sight with a single 2 MOA gold dot on the Holosun 507C footprint, which is the Trijicon RMR pattern.
Gold sits between red and green in the spectrum and reads as a warm amber point, which separates from red-painted steel, orange targets and autumn woodland in a way a red dot does not.
The housing is 7075-T6 aluminium, IP67 rated, weighing 1.55 oz, measuring 1.78 × 1.31 × 1.11 in with a 0.91 × 0.67 in window. The X3 platform adds a forward-facing light sensor, so automatic brightness is set by the light on the target rather than the light behind the shooter. A CR1632 loads from the side and is rated at up to 50,000 hours, with Solar Failsafe, Shake Awake and Lock Mode.
Everything else here is standard 507C-pattern hardware: 1 MOA clicks, ±50 MOA of travel, eight daylight brightness levels and four that are night vision compatible. The forward sensor matters most when you shoot from a shaded firing point onto a sunlit range, where a rear-facing sensor under-drives the dot. Gold is a preference rather than an upgrade — against a pale background, red or green may still show more clearly.
It fits RMR-cut slides, optics-ready pistols supplied with an RMR-pattern plate, and RMR-footprint mounts on pistol-calibre carbines and rimfire trainers. The same X3 sight with a red emitter is the HS407C X3 Red, the previous generation is the HS407C X2, and the colour is shared with the rest of our gold dot sights.
