The Primary Arms GLx 1X MicroPrism, part number 710072 and SKU PA-GLX-1XMP-CYCLOPS-G, is an unmagnified prism scope with a glass-etched ACSS Cyclops reticle illuminated in green behind a 20.5 mm window.
An etched reticle is resolved by the same corrected optical path as the target. For an eye with astigmatism that is the difference between a clean horseshoe and a smeared comet.
The housing is 2.6 in (66 mm) long and weighs 9.1 oz (258 g), with an 18.8 mm exit pupil and a modular mount built to the Trijicon Mini-ACOG and Primary Arms MicroPrism pattern. Illumination is green and night vision compatible, running from a single CR2032 cell that Primary Arms rate at roughly 14,925 hours at setting 5, with AutoLive motion sensing shutting it down when the rifle is idle.
Turrets move in 1/2 MOA clicks with 50 MOA of elevation and 50 MOA of windage, and the field of view is 74.8 ft at 100 yards, which is wide enough to shoot with both eyes open at speed. Eye relief is 4.40 in, so unlike a red dot the head does have a position to find behind this optic, and that is the honest cost of a prism. The reticle stays fully usable with the illumination off, because it is etched rather than projected.
The supplied mount is built to the Trijicon Mini-ACOG and Primary Arms MicroPrism pattern and goes on a Picatinny rail. The same optic with red illumination is the GLx 1X MicroPrism in red, and the lower-cost line is the SLx 1X MicroPrismT green Cyclops Gen II on the H1/T1 footprint. Related optics sit in prism scopes and straight-pull rifle optics.
