This SIG Sauer package pairs the 1x ROMEO5 Gen II red dot sight with the 3x JULIET3-Micro magnifier, both supplied with their own mounts.
Buying the sight and the magnifier as a set removes the guesswork: SIG has already matched the two optical heights, so the magnified image sits centred behind the dot.
The ROMEO5 Gen II projects a 2 MOA red dot through a 20 mm clear aperture across 12 brightness settings, ten for daylight and two for night vision, from a CR2032 rated at 40,000 hours. The JULIET3-Micro adds 3x through a 22 mm objective. SIG mounts the red dot on its I-BEAM mount and the magnifier on a 90-degree flip-to-side mount, so the magnifier swings clear of the sight line when it is not wanted. The pair weighs 15.4 oz (437 g), finished black and rated IPX7.
It is the natural fit for a service-pattern or straight-pull rifle that spends its day between close targets and 300 yards. Adjustment is generous at 100 MOA of elevation and 100 MOA of windage. Bear in mind that a magnifier magnifies the dot as well as the target, so a 2 MOA dot subtends the same angle behind glass and this remains a red dot system rather than a substitute for a variable scope.
Any flat-top receiver or rail with room for a sight and a magnifier in line: AR-pattern rifles, straight-pull carbines and railed shotguns. If you already own a magnifier, the ROMEO5 Gen II on its own is the sight alone; for a circle-dot reticle instead of a plain dot, the ROMEO5XDR Gen II is the alternative, and the same sight in green is the ROMEO5 Gen II green.
