The SIG Sauer TANGO-MSR Compact 1-10x24, part number SOTMC11000, is a low-power variable rifle scope just 8.4 in (212 mm) long, running the illuminated MSR BDC-10 reticle in the first focal plane on a 30 mm tube.
A ten-power top end inside an 8.4 in body is the whole argument for this scope. You get mid-range magnification without the length, so a short receiver keeps its rail free ahead of the optic.
It arrives ready to shoot. SIG factory-fit a pre-levelled ALPHA-MSR compact cantilever mount, so there are no rings to choose and no levelling to do, and the quoted 26.5 oz (751 g) is the scope and mount together. Turrets move in 0.5 MOA per click with over 80 MOA of travel in both elevation and windage, reticle illumination has six settings from a CR2032 cell, and the scope is waterproof, shockproof and fogproof.
Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, the BDC-10 holdovers keep their true value at every magnification rather than only at one setting, which is what you want when a stage or a stalk makes you change power mid-string. The cost of that is a reticle that shrinks as you wind down towards 1x, where a second focal plane design would stay bold. At 1x it still works close and fast; at 10x it identifies and holds over at distance.
With the ALPHA-MSR mount already fitted it goes straight onto a MIL-STD-1913 flat-top receiver, which covers AR-pattern and straight-pull rifles. Lower magnification in the same short body is the Compact 1-8x24 or the Compact 1-6x24, and the full-length 1-10x is the TANGO-MSR 1-10x26. Browse all LPVO rifle scopes.
