The Streamlight TLR-8 X G sub, part number 69438, is the subcompact light and green laser cut specifically for pistols with a MIL-STD-1913 short rail, producing 500 lumens and 5,000 candela for a 141 metre beam.
Subcompact rails are not interchangeable, and this part number is the 1913 short one. Get that right and everything else about the light follows.
It is 2.51 in long and weighs between 2.77 and 2.87 oz depending on the cell fitted, and it is rated IPX4 against water. Power is multi-fuel: one CR123A lithium cell is supplied, and the light will equally run Streamlight's SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable pack. The green aiming laser is Class 3R at 510-530 nm with an output below 5 mW.
High and low rear paddles work ambidextrously for momentary or constant-on operation, with a safe-off setting and a strobe the user can enable rather than one that gets in the way. White light runs 1.5 hours on a CR123A or 1 hour on the SL-B9, while the laser alone will go for up to 11 hours, which is the mode that matters if it is used as an aiming reference rather than a lamp.
This part number is for subcompact pistols carrying a MIL-STD-1913 short rail. Other rails in the same family have their own part numbers: the 1913OS version and the SIG P365 and P365-XL version. If a red laser suits your budget better, the TLR-8 X sub for 1913 rails is the same light with a red emitter.
