The SureFire M640DFT Scout Light Pro Turbo in Tan, part M640DFT-TN-PRO, is a full-size rifle-mounted LED light with a turbo head, supplied with an SF18650 rechargeable cell and a charging cable.
The turbo head concentrates the output into a tight hotspot, which is why this light reaches 100,000 candela and 632 metres on a modest 700 lumens.
The body is aerospace aluminium in Tan, sealed to IPX7, 5.9 in (15 cm) long with a 1.258 in (3.19 cm) bezel and weighing 5.5 oz (156 g). It ships on SureFire's low-profile Scout Light Pro mount, which fits M-LOK and MIL-STD-1913 directly, and is worked by the ZE68 momentary and constant-on pushbutton.
Dual Fuel is the other half of the name. On the included SF18650 rechargeable cell it gives 700 lumens, 100,000 candela and 632 metres for 2.75 hours; on two CR123A lithium primaries it gives 600 lumens, 90,000 candela and 600 metres for 1.75 hours, so a set of primaries in a pocket is a genuine reserve rather than a limp home mode. Candela rather than lumens is what decides throw, and this is a thrower: for a wide close-range flood, a wider-beam Scout Light is the better tool.
The supplied low-profile mount fits M-LOK handguards and MIL-STD-1913 rails, so it goes onto AR-pattern and straight-pull carbines without an adapter. The same light in black is the M640DFT in Black, the wide-beam alternative in Tan is the M640DF Scout Light Pro, and tailcaps and remote switches for it sit in weapon light accessories.
