The Timney 650ST gives the Ruger Precision Rifle a genuine two-stage match trigger: 8 oz (225 g) of smooth, deliberate first-stage take-up, then a crisp 1 lb (455 g) second-stage break through a straight shoe. Two-stage control is precisely what a chassis rifle wants — load the first stage as the reticle settles, then commit through a break light enough to never disturb the sight picture.
The straight shoe encourages a consistent, low finger position and a straight-to-the-rear press. Like every Timney since 1946, the 650ST is hand-assembled, calibrated and tested before shipping — a drop-in upgrade for the RPR's already capable platform.

It is not a Remington 700 pattern unit, so it should not be used to replace triggers in other actions. On a rifle used for slow, deliberate shots that makes the break very predictable, because you are already loaded against the wall before the shot goes. It is a considerably lighter arrangement than most factory triggers.
The 650ST uses a straight shoe, which keeps the finger contact point consistent regardless of how high or low you sit in the grip. Precision shooters often prefer that on an adjustable-length chassis rifle, where your reach to the trigger changes with the stock setting. If you want a curved shoe instead, ask us what is available in the range.
No extra hardware is required beyond what is already in the rifle. Because the pull is a good deal lighter than standard, it suits deliberate range and precision use rather than rough field handling.
