The EOTech G45.NMTAN is the 5x G45 magnifier finished in Tan and supplied as the optic on its own, with no mount in the box.
Identical glass to the mounted version, minus the mount. Buy this one if an STS base, a flip-to-side or an offset mount is already on the rifle and you only need the magnifier itself.
EOTech list the bare optic at 3.9 in (99 mm) long and 9.5 oz (269.3 g), with about 2.6 in (66 mm) of eye relief and windage and elevation adjustment to bring the magnified image into line with the sight in front of it. The finish is Tan rather than black, which matters if the rest of the optic and furniture on the rifle is already earth-toned.
A magnifier has no reticle of its own; it simply enlarges whatever the holographic or reflex sight ahead of it is projecting, so the zero stays with the sight and the magnifier only has to be aligned once. At 5x this is the longest reach EOTech offer behind a holographic sight, which makes target identification at distance realistic without giving up a 1x sight picture when the magnifier swings clear. The limitation is stated in the name: there is no mount here, and the published weight and length are for the bare optic, so budget for a base on top.
It goes behind an EOTech holographic weapon sight or a comparable reflex sight, carried on a mount you already own. If you would rather have one supplied, the G45 with STS mount in Tan arrives with EOTech's Switch-To-Side base fitted; the same bare optic in black is the G45 No Mount Black, and the 3x alternative is the G43 No Mount Tan.
