The EOTech Vudu X 1-6x24 in this listing is the second focal plane model with the illuminated BD1 reticle, built on a 30 mm one-piece aluminium tube and finished in black.
Second focal plane is the deliberate choice here: the reticle stays the same apparent size right through the zoom range, so it never shrinks to a thread at 1x and never swells to cover the target at 6x.
EOTech quotes 10.3 in of length and 17.8 oz (505 g), with 3.3-3.9 in (84-99 mm) of eye relief at both ends of the magnification range. Illumination runs from a CR2032 coin cell, the objective is 24 mm, and EOTech gives the country of origin as the Philippines.
A 1-6x is the practical middle of the LPVO range: genuine 1x for close work, and enough power at the top end for identification and a considered shot. The compromises are worth stating. Because the reticle is in the second focal plane, its holdover marks correspond to the distances they were calculated for at one magnification only, and a 24 mm objective gathers less light at dusk than the larger front ends on heavier scopes.
It takes 30 mm rings or a 30 mm one-piece cantilever mount, which suits an AR-pattern flat-top or any rail-topped rifle. The same scope with EOTech's other reticle is the Vudu X 1-6x24 DP1, and if you want more magnification in the same family the Vudu X 2-12x40 BD1 runs to twelve power. Mount height is covered in our optic mount height guide.
