The SIG Sauer TANGO-MSR Compact 1-10x24 in this listing is SOTMC11002, the first focal plane version with the illuminated MSR BDC10 reticle and a 30 mm main tube.
Eight point four inches for a ten-power variable is the headline. On a short receiver, that is the difference between having rail left over for a backup sight and having none.
The reticle sits in the first focal plane, so the BDC10 holdovers stay correct at 4x and 7x rather than only at maximum power — which matters, because a 1-10x spends much of its life somewhere in the middle. Turrets move in 0.5 MOA clicks with over 80 MOA of windage and elevation, illumination runs from a CR2032, and the scope weighs 26.5 oz (751 g) with its mount fitted.
It arrives ready to bolt on: SIG factory-install a pre-levelled ALPHA-MSR cantilever mount at 1.535in, so there are no rings to choose and no levelling to do on the kitchen table. That suits Civilian Service Rifle at the longer distances, straight-pull and lever-release carbines, and anyone who prefers to hold off a reticle rather than dial. The trade with any compact first focal plane design is the same one: at 1x the reticle is necessarily fine, so the illumination is doing real work at close range.
With the ALPHA-MSR mount fitted it goes straight onto any MIL-STD-1913 flat-top receiver; if you would rather use your own rings, they need to be 30 mm. The second focal plane version of the same scope is the Compact 1-10x24 SFP, and less magnification in the same short body is the Compact 1-8x24. Browse all LPVO rifle scopes.
