The Streamlight TLR RM 1 System, part 69440, is a low-profile single-cell rail-mounted light producing 500 lumens and 11,000 candela for a 210 metre beam, supplied with its remote pressure switch.
System is the word that matters in the part number: the remote pad, its 90 degree cable exit and the retaining clips are all in the box, so the light arrives ready to set up on a handguard rather than needing a switch ordered separately.
One CR123A lithium cell runs it for 1.5 hours of light, or three hours in strobe. The push-button tail switch and the remote pad work independently, so if one is knocked out of action the other still operates the light. It mounts directly to a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail using the supplied key kit, measures 3.64 in (9.25 cm), weighs 3.02 oz (85.6 g) and is rated IPX7.
On a carbine, a straight-pull rifle or a practical shotgun this is the compact end of the rail-light range: enough beam for identification at realistic distances without the bulk or the weight of a two-cell body. If you would rather not have a cable on the handguard at all, the light-only version is the cleaner build.
It clamps straight to a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail with the key kit supplied, which covers AR-pattern carbines, straight-pull builds and rail-equipped shotguns. Without the remote, the same light is the TLR RM 1 light only; with a green aiming laser it is the TLR RM 1 Laser-G System; and the rechargeable 1000 lumen version is the TLR RM 1 HL-X USB System.
