The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro in Tan, part number M640U-TN-PRO, is a full-size rifle light producing 1000 lumens and 11,300 candela for roughly 213 metres of beam.
No charging to remember and no pack to keep topped up. Two lithium cells that will sit in a drawer for years and still work when the light comes off the shelf.
The body is aerospace aluminium, 5.5 in (13.9 cm) long with a 1.125 in (2.9 cm) bezel, weighing 4.4 oz (124 g) with batteries fitted, and rated IPX7. Two 123A lithium cells are included and give approximately 1.25 hours. The Z68 click tailcap handles momentary and constant-on, and the low-profile mount ships with MIL-STD-1913 and M-LOK hardware.
The beam is a broad, even flood rather than a tight column, which is what you want for searching, moving and close work — and exactly what you do not want for identifying something at the far end of a field. If reach matters more than spread, the Turbo models exist for that reason. Everything else here is deliberately simple.
M-LOK handguards and MIL-STD-1913 rails, using the hardware supplied with the low-profile mount. The same light in black is the M640U Scout Light Pro Black, a rechargeable Dual Fuel body with more output is the M640DF in Tan, and the long-throw version is the M640DFT Turbo in Tan. More are in Weapon Lights.
