The SureFire X300T-A Turbo is a compact rail-mounted LED weapon light in black, producing 650 lumens and 66,000 candela for approximately 514 metres of beam distance.
Sixty-six thousand candela from a light this size is the whole argument. Candela is what decides throw, and this one puts a tight, usable hotspot much further out than a floodier light of the same output.
The body is aerospace aluminium with a Mil-Spec hard anodised finish, approximately 3.76 in (9.55 cm) long with a 1.125 in (2.9 cm) bezel, weighing 4.4 oz (124.7 g), and rated IPX7 to a metre for thirty minutes. It runs on two SureFire SF123A lithium cells, supplied, for approximately 1.5 hours. The A suffix denotes the lever latch attachment, which indexes onto Universal and Picatinny rails and locks in place without tools.
An ambidextrous switch at the rear gives momentary and constant-on operation from either side. Because the attachment is a lever rather than a screw clamp, the light comes on and off the host quickly, which matters if one light is shared between a pistol, a carbine forend and a railed shotgun. The trade-off against the B version is exactly that: the screw clamp on the B is slower to fit but bites harder on a Picatinny rail, so pick on how often the light moves.
Any host with a standard Universal or Picatinny accessory rail takes it, which covers a railed pistol dust cover as readily as a carbine forend or a railed shotgun.
