The Holosun HS407COMP in gold, part number HS407COMP-GD-6, is a 1x open-emitter competition sight on the Trijicon RMR footprint, carrying a single fixed 6 MOA gold dot at 590 nm behind a 1.1 x 0.87 in window.
Gold exists for the targets a red dot disappears into. Against red-painted steel and orange plates, a warm amber aiming point stays a separate thing rather than blending in.
The body is hard anodised 7075-T6 aluminium, 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.3 in and 1.7 oz, rated IP67 and tested to 5000G. The CR1632 loads from the side of the housing and Holosun's specification table rates it for 50,000 hours at setting 6, managed by Shake Awake with last-setting recall. Adjustment is 1 MOA per click with plus or minus 30 MOA of travel, and brightness runs across 8 daylight and 4 night vision settings. No solar panel is fitted.
Size and contrast are the two things that make a dot fast on a close stage, and this sight is built around both: 6 MOA is large enough to find without hunting for it, and the gold emitter separates from warm-coloured targets in a way red does not. The trade is the same as any large dot — at distance it covers more of the target than a 2 MOA dot would, so precision work suffers. Everything else is deliberately plain, with no reticle to select and nothing to set up.
It mounts to any Trijicon RMR cut — optic-ready slides machined for the RMR, RMR-pattern adapter plates and RMR-footprint rail mounts. The identical sight with a red emitter is the HS407COMP with the 6 MOA red dot, and for a 2 MOA gold dot with Solar Failsafe see the HS407C X3 gold dot sight. The rest live in gold dot sights.
