The Streamlight TLR-1 HP 59151 is a rail-mounted weapon light in Flat Dark Earth that concentrates 1000 lumens into 65,000 candela of peak beam intensity.
Lumens tell you how much light leaves the head; candela tells you how far it goes. This light exists for the second number, and 65,000 of them reach roughly 510 metres.
It runs 1.75 hours on the two CR123A lithium cells supplied, and the anodised aluminium body is rated IPX7, measuring 3.39in (8.61 cm) and weighing 4.32 oz (122.5 g). Ambidextrous rear switches handle momentary and constant-on from either side, and the tool-less rail clamp fits handguns and long guns alike, with rail locating keys in the box.
A tight hotspot is a trade rather than an upgrade: it identifies at distance far better than a flood beam does, and it lights a room less evenly. If you are lamping across stubble or open ground it is the right choice; if you want spill at conversational range, the wide-beam TLR-1 HL is the better tool. This is the Flat Dark Earth finish of a light also made in black.
The clamp takes rail-equipped handguns and long guns, and the locating keys index it against the rail slots so it does not creep under recoil. The identical light in black is the TLR-1 HP, and the rifle-ready package is the TLR-1 HP Long Gun Kit. For a rechargeable light with more candela again, look at the TLR-1 HP-X USB.
