The Streamlight TLR-1 HP-X USB, part 69168, is the long-throw member of the TLR-1 family, supplied with two SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable packs and a charging cord.
Seventy-seven thousand candela is the number to read, not the lumens. Candela is what determines how far a beam reaches, and at 555 metres this light identifies things a wide-beam torch of similar output would simply wash out at forty.
On the two SL-B9 packs it runs 1,300 lumens, 77,000 candela and 555 metres for an hour. On two CR123A lithium cells it gives 1,000 lumens, 53,000 candela and 460 metres for an hour and a half. The head is 6000-series aluminium rated IPX7, the light measures 3.70in (9.40 cm), and it weighs 5.43 oz (154 g) on the rechargeable packs or 5.20 oz (148 g) on CR123As.
A hinged front-loading battery door is the practical touch: cells change from the front without loosening the rail clamp, so the light does not have to come off and go back on again. Ambidextrous paddles give momentary and constant-on from either side with a programmable strobe, and the clamp itself is tool-free. This is the light for lamping, night vermin work and long-range identification after dark, mounted on a rifle or a full-size railed host. If you want a broad wall of light close in, a lower-candela model spreads its beam more.
