The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro in black, part number M640U-BK-PRO, is a full-size rifle-mounted LED weapon light running two CR123A lithium cells, supplied with the low-profile Scout Light Pro mount.
No charging, no pack to manage, nothing to remember before you leave the house. Two lithium cells that will sit in a drawer for years and still deliver 1000 lumens.
The body is aerospace aluminium in a Mil-Spec hard anodised finish to MIL-A-8625 Type III Class 2, O-ring sealed and rated IPX7, measuring 5.5 in (13.9 cm) long with a 1.125 in (2.9 cm) bezel and weighing 4.4 oz (124 g) with batteries in it. A click-type tailcap gives momentary and constant-on operation, and the low-profile Scout Light Pro mount takes MIL-STD-1913 and M-LOK hardware, both of which are supplied.
Output is 1000 lumens at 11,300 candela, which reaches about 213 metres and runs for roughly 1.25 hours. That candela-to-lumen ratio tells you what sort of beam it is: broad and even, made for searching and for close work rather than for picking something out at the far end of a field. If throw is what you are after, a Turbo head is the right answer instead. Runtime is the other honest limit — 1.25 hours is a night's intermittent use, not continuous burn.
The low-profile mount takes the light onto MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny or M-LOK directly using the hardware in the box, which covers most rifle and carbine handguards. Remote switching is available through SureFire's Scout Light switches, which sit in weapon light accessories. If you want a rechargeable body instead, the M640DF Scout Light Pro is the Dual Fuel model, and the M640DFT Turbo trades flood for throw.
