About this range

SIG Sauer, explained.

SIG names by function, which makes the catalogue easy to navigate once you know the words. ROMEO is always a non-magnifying sight, TANGO always a riflescope, JULIET always a magnifier — and in the magnifier line the number is the power, so JULIET3, JULIET4 and JULIET6 are 3x, 4x and 6x. Within ROMEO the split is between open reflex bodies built for pistol slides, where ROMEO-X Compact suits slim slides and ROMEO-X Pro full-size ones, and closed tube sights built for rifles, where ROMEO5 is the compact micro and the 4 and 8 series are the larger, heavier-duty bodies. Reticle names follow the same logic: Ballistic Circle Dot puts a ranging circle around the aiming dot, and the Quad versions let you cycle between several patterns from one sight.

TANGO-MSR reads the same way. The magnification range is in the name, running 1-6x, 1-8x and 1-10x, and the reticle is matched to it — BDC6, BDC8 and BDC10 are drop-compensating patterns calibrated for the top end of their respective scopes, while Hellfire is the illuminated fine-line option. Compact versions shorten the tube for a handier rifle at a small cost in top-end reach, and both first and second focal plane builds are offered. If you cannot decide between a dot and magnification, note that some listings pair the two: a ROMEO5 Gen II with a JULIET3 Micro, or a ROMEO8T-AMR with its matching JULIET3T-AMR, bought as one kit rather than assembled from parts.
